Keeping Your Wellness Routine Consistent

When it comes to creating a sustainable wellness routine, consistency is key. In order to create lasting results, you will need to dedicate some time and effort to work towards your desired lifestyle.

Most people understand this, but still are struggling with making it last and staying consistent.

Our team at Futureproof understands that it can be hard to make the habits that you want stick, but we also value the importance of consistency. This is why we have compiled some of our best tips to help keep you on track.

Find Your “Why”

Your “why” is the deep rooted and emotional reason behind wanting to make a change. For example, Futureproof’s “why” is that we believe that efficient bodywork should be quick and affordable, it just requires consistency. This helps us define our purpose of why we do what we do. When you find your strong “why”, it gives you the motivation you need to make the changes and stay consistent.

Wellness is a Journey, Not a Destination

Although there’s nothing wrong with developing goals for yourself, there’s a healthy way to go about achieving them. When focusing too hard on an ultimate goal and achieving it in a short time frame, there’s a chance we will make certain sacrifices in order to achieve that quick payoff or benefit. This is a problem because it does not promote long term success. Wellness should be viewed as an ongoing journey rather than a destination.

Small Actions DO Make a Difference

Obviously, you aren’t going to see your desired outcome overnight. However, there’s no need to make huge changes all at once. Start small with your goals and build on top of your actions after each accomplishment. This can be applied to multiple aspects of your life, such as, attending at least one spinal stretch session with us for one week. Once your goal is met, first congratulate yourself on your accomplishment, then increase the sessions to two times per week for the next week. The same can be done for workout days per week or healthy meals per week. When building on top of these small achievements they will lead to bigger accomplishments.

Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself

Keeping yourself on track is a journey and there’s bound to be a few setbacks along the way. The moment you start putting yourself down for making lesser choices will make it that much harder for you to get yourself back on track. It may cause you to abandon your plan altogether. The important thing is being mindful when making your choices. So now when indulging in a desert or watching tv instead of working out you can simply take a mental note of your decision so the next day you can offset that choice with a balancing one.

Maintaining a consistent wellness routine helps create momentum and that’s what’s going to change your life. We know it can be difficult to build those actions into habits but don’t give up. We believe in you!
